Ceramic sculpture as expression has taken the place of two-dimensional painting that was the long time career of Libba Tracy in the commercial illustration world. Where color played a large part in her pastel, acrylic, and watercolor paintings as her mediums of choice, now the neutrals of clay dominate her palate. The challenge and inherent fluidity of malleable clay lends itself to her desire to create the current “Critters on Wheels” series which wildly ranges from whales to goats to armadillos. Her fascination observing animal behavior has lead Libba to express her love for them through clay.
